Students are also prepared periodically for in-studio baithak showcases, local performances, and professional videos. On special occasions like Gurupurnima, Janmashtami, and World Dance Day, students are invited to the studio for a small ceremony and to learn a specially-composed dance for the occasion.

As part of class discipline and as a mark of respect to the artform, a uniform of white salwar-kurta with red dupatta is strictly-enforced for all students. Ghungroos and costumes are arranged for individual students as necessary.

Focusing on training both technically-strong dancers as well as expressive performers, our institute values dedication to the classical art forms and above all, an emphasis on the quality of dance. From the elements of Hindustani classical theory, including taal, laya, and rhythm, to practical knowledge of Lucknow-Gharana Kathak repertoire such as Vandana, Tarana, and Teentaal compositions, our students are taught to value the depth of classical art forms and cherish this lifelong journey through the compositions they learn.

Weekly level-wise classes are conducted at our artistically-presented studio in Austin, a place that nurtures dance as a tribute to the lineage of our Gurus. Due to the fluid nature of our dance form, we do not have a specially-designated admissions period, and accept students of all ages throughout the year.

Students are prepared as per the syllabus of Pracheen Kala Kendra, New Delhi, learning the compositions and techniques of Guruji Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj and Smt. Ruby Mishra. Our learners begin with the basics of taal and laya, as well as practical foundations of hastaks (movement exercises) and tatkaar (footwork), before moving on to more advanced compositions in Teentaal and beyond.
